Gattaca

In a future obsessed with genetic engineering, Vincent Freeman (Ethan Hawke), an "in-valid" born outside the system, yearns for the stars. Despite his limited life expectancy due to his natural conception, Vincent dreams of becoming an astronaut. Determined to defy his predetermined fate, he takes a daring gamble: purchasing the genetic identity of Jerome Morrow (Jude Law), a genetically engineered "valid."

Assuming Jerome's DNA and undergoing physical alterations, Vincent infiltrates the prestigious Gattaca space programme. However, his carefully constructed world begins to crumble when an investigation into the death of a Gattaca officer (Gore Vidal) throws suspicion his way. As he navigates the treacherous world of Gattaca, Vincent grapples with internal conflict, the constant fear of exposure, and a blossoming romance with Irene (Uma Thurman), a fellow astronaut harbouring her own secret genetic anomaly.
