The Core

Geophysicist Dr. Josh Keyes (Aaron Eckhart) discovers a shocking phenomenon: the Earth's inner core has inexplicably stopped rotating. This scientific anomaly has devastating consequences: the planet's magnetic field weakens rapidly, leading to catastrophic weather events and potential atmospheric collapse.

With humanity facing extinction, a desperate plan is formed. A team of international scientists, including Dr. Keyes, is assembled to embark on a seemingly impossible mission: drill down to the Earth's core and detonate a nuclear device to restart its rotation.

The team, comprised of specialists like a pilot, a medical doctor, and a nuclear engineer, builds a specialised drilling machine capable of withstanding the extreme heat and pressure of the Earth's core. Their journey takes them deep below the surface, where they face unforeseen dangers and defy the laws of physics.
