Nim's Island

Nim's Island is a 2008 adventure film that tells the story of Nim Rusoe, a resourceful young girl who lives on a remote island with her scientist father. Nim's world is filled with fantastical adventures, thanks to her wild imagination and her favourite book series about the daring explorer Alex Rover. When her father goes missing at sea, Nim is left alone. Determined to find him, she sends a desperate email to Alex Rover's reclusive author, Alexandra Rover.

Alexandra, a woman plagued by agoraphobia, is far from the adventurous character she creates. Yet, compelled by Nim's plea, Alexandra overcomes her fear and sets out on a journey to the island. Together, the unlikely pair must face the dangers of the island and their own inner struggles to find Nim's father.
