Desperado
At the Tarasco bar in Mexico, an American man named Buscemi (Steve Buscemi) tells the story of witnessing a massacre in another bar, committed by a Mexican who had a guitar case full of guns. The bar's patrons are uninterested until Buscemi mentions the name "Bucho". Meanwhile, El Mariachi (Antonio Banderas) has a dream of his encounter with Moco (Carlos Gallardo), Bucho's underling, who killed his lover and shot his left hand, but Buscemi awakens him and tells him to continue searching for Bucho. El Mariachi meets a child, whose father allegedly plays guitar for a living. Having been a guitarist himself, he gives the boy some guitar lessons.
As El Mariachi immerses himself in the project, he becomes increasingly captivated by the enigmatic beauty of Smithers' wife, Juliana (Salma Hayek). Juliana, trapped in a loveless marriage, finds solace in El Mariachi's company and their shared love of art and nature.
Meanwhile, Smithers' cousin, Fitzmaurice (Joaquim de Almeida), harbors a deep resentment towards Smithers and desires Juliana for himself. Fitzmaurice had previously hired El Mariachi, hoping to bankrupt Smithers through the extravagant garden project and eventually claim Juliana for his own.
As El Mariachi's relationship with Juliana deepens, he finds himself caught in a dangerous game of love and deception. He must navigate the treacherous waters of Smithers' jealousy, Fitzmaurice's machinations, and Juliana's own hidden desires.
