Carrie
Carrie White is a lonely and ostracised teenager living in a small town. Raised by her deeply religious and emotionally unstable mother, Margaret (Julianne Moore), Carrie experiences a sheltered upbringing that isolates her from her peers. At school, she's constantly bullied by a group of cruel girls led by the popular Chris Hargensen (Portia Doubleday).
When Carrie experiences her first period in the school showers, she's subjected to a vicious and humiliating prank orchestrated by Chris. This traumatic event triggers a hidden power within Carrie: telekinesis. Carrie soon discovers she can move objects with her mind, and as she grapples with this newfound ability, a sense of rage and resentment begins to simmer within her.
When sympathetic classmate and aspiring filmmaker Eric (Ansel Elgort) asks Carrie to the prom, a glimmer of hope enters her life. However, Chris, jealous of Carrie's newfound confidence, hatches a cruel revenge plot that unleashes Carrie's telekinetic fury at its most devastating.
Prom night turns into a scene of utter chaos as Carrie unleashes her pent-up emotions in a terrifying display of telekinetic power. The film delves into the horrific consequences of long-suppressed anger and the devastating impact of religious fanaticism. As Carrie loses control, the line between victim and villain blurs, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
