Tropic Thunder

A group of pampered actors, including the method-obsessive Tug Speedman (Ben Stiller), the fading action star Tugg Stanton (Tom Cruise), and the untalented rapper Jeff Portnoy (Jack Black), are filming a big-budget Vietnam War movie titled "Scorcher VI." In a desperate attempt for realism, the studio drops them into the jungles of Southeast Asia, completely unaware that they've landed in the middle of a real drug operation.

With no idea they're in genuine danger, the actors continue their elaborate war movie charade. As reality sets in and they face real violence, their Hollywood egos clash spectacularly. Tug Speedman struggles to maintain his "never break character" commitment, while Jeff Portnoy finds his street persona useless against actual guerillas.
