Swarmed

A scientist named Kent Horvath (Michael Shanks) who is trying to invent a new pesticide, specifically for yellow jacket wasps. He tests its effectiveness out on eight yellow jackets, finding that it successfully kills six, but the two who survived now have extremely high pheromone levels, resulting in increased aggression. That night, the janitor accidentally releases them, and they both attack, killing him.

The next morning, the residents of the small town where Kent lives find the janitor's body and one of the wasps. The other wasp is nowhere to be found. Kent realises that the wasps are now extremely dangerous and that he must find a way to stop them before they kill anyone else.

Kent works with the local sheriff and a group of volunteers to try to track down the wasps and kill them. However, the wasps are very difficult to kill, and they manage to escape each time they are cornered.

The wasps also start to attack the townspeople, killing several people. Kent and the sheriff realise that they need to find a way to destroy the wasps' nest before it's too late.

Kent eventually finds the wasps' nest and develops a plan to destroy it. He lures the wasps out of the nest with a trap and then uses a flamethrower to destroy it.

In the end, Kent and the sheriff are able to destroy the wasps' nest and kill the wasps. However, several people have been killed in the attacks, and Kent is deeply traumatised by the experience.
